Malek Deng Arop is a results-driven CEO and seasoned leader with deep expertise in sustainable business development, market research, and human rights advocacy. As the CEO and Executive Director of Nile Economics Zone Cooperation (LLC) Ltd in South Sudan, Malek spearheads initiatives that attract strategic investments and promote inclusive economic growth. His leadership focuses on key sectors including agriculture, energy, water treatment, mining, construction, and manufacturing—fostering partnerships with both local and international stakeholders.
Malek’s professional background spans roles as a business researcher, documentary analyst, and human rights activist, all of which have sharpened his ability to integrate community engagement and social responsibility into economic planning. His investment priorities aim to unlock South Sudan’s potential through projects like sugar cane and cement manufacturing, clean water infrastructure, livestock enhancement, and renewable energy development.
He holds a Master’s degree in European Business Law from Lund University, and has completed diplomacy and climate risk management programs through the University of London and UCLG Africa. Malek is multilingual, fluent in English, Arabic, Swedish, Dinka, and several local African languages—making him a culturally agile leader capable of navigating complex environments.
